The Livingstone Foundation (TLF) has provided essential support to accident survivor Samiru Laryea, who is currently recovering from a life-threatening motor accident that led to the amputation of his right arm.
On Tuesday, October 08, TLF’s Managing Director Dr. Louisa Ansong-Satekla, along with a dedicated team, visited Laryea at the Surgical and Plastic Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to offer emotional support, essential relief items, and financial assistance to aid his recovery. This visit marks the beginning of TLF’s commitment to provide ongoing assistance through regular visits and additional supplies, offering support as Laryea rebuilds his strength in the coming weeks.
During the visit, TLF shared various supplies, including packs of bottle water, drinks, toiletries, and an amount of money, aimed at helping Laryea during his hospital stay and cover his medical expenses, as well as ensuring he has access to necessary resources during this challenging time. The foundation expressed its commitment to supporting him throughout his recovery journey and emphasized the importance of extending kindness and hope to those in need.
“He’s a fan who had accident on Thursday while going about his day which led to the amputation. We are here to stand by him as he recovers, and we’ll continue to provide whatever support he needs,” Dr. Louisa shared during the visit. “This is not just a one-time gesture; we are committed to staying involved and offering whatever assistance he needs, now and in the future.”
While not there in person, celebrated Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy, founder of The Livingstone Foundation, personally connected with Laryea via phone. Stonebwoy shared words of encouragement, urging him to remain strong and resilient in the face of adversity. He expressed empathy for Laryea’s situation and promised to visit him once he is discharged, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to providing not just financial support, but also emotional comfort and encouragement.
Samiru Laryea expressed gratitude for the generosity shown by the foundation and shared that the support received has lifted his spirits.
