The Minority leader in the Parliament of Ghana, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has accused Ghana’s ruling party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of deceiving Ghanaians, saying “The NDC is a complete scam. They are 419 people.”
He made the allegation while speaking at a gathering of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) sympathizers in Sefwi-Wiawso in the Western North Region on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
Afenyo-Markin, the Member of Parliament (MP) of Effutu in the Central Region, says the NDC has failed to live up to the expectations of Ghanaians.
He says the NDC has not been able to honour its promises made to Ghanaians during the 2024 election campaign period.
He said “We should ask ourselves, is the NDC delivering on its promises? The NDC is a complete scam. They are 419 people. They come to you and lie to you and when you give them power, they do nothing.”
He added that “But they can only achieve that if we ourselves are divided. So today, in Sefwi-Wiawso, I speak to the entire region on behalf of the flagbearer, on behalf of Parliament, on behalf of all the elders of the party and plead with you to unite.”
