New Jersey Man Flies To Florida Overnight To Attack His Online Rival With Hammer

A New Jersey man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly flying to Florida to attack his online video game rival with a hammer.

The suspect, named Edward Kang, aged 20, allegedly took an overnight flight from Newark to Jacksonville to attack his rival.

According to the sheriff, Kang snuck into the victim’s house in Fernandina Beach, dressed in black with a mask and gloves at 2:00am Sunday.

According to the sheriff, the victim’s stepfather reported being awakened by “screams for help”.

The Sheriff reported that when the victim’s “went to see what was going on, he found his stepson on the ground struggling with the attacker, who had a hammer.”

The sheriff said Kang became mad at the victim while they were playing the multi-player game, ArcheAge, and he told his mother that he was visiting a friend in Florida and left.

The victim suffered severe but non-threatening head wounds, the sheriff said.

Kang is reportedly being held at Nassau County Jail on attempted murder and burglary charges.
