Liberia Will Outperform Sub-Saharan Africa Growth In 2024 – Says Fitch
Credit rating agency, Fitch has reported that West African nation, Liberia will outperform Sub-Saharan Africa growth in 2024.
According to Fitch, Liberia’s economy will grow from 3.7% in 2023 to 5.4% in 2024.
Recent data released by the Central Bank of Liberia shows that real GDP growth expanded by 5.1% in quarter 1 of 2024, due to an underperformance in the agricultural sector.
This was lower than had been anticipated and, as such, Fitch Solutions, have revised down their full-year growth forecast from 5.7% previously.
That said, the growth forecast is considerably above Liberia’s 2014-2023 average of 3.0%, as well as the 2024 Sub-Saharan Africa forecast of 3.6%.
