Accelerating Action for Gender Equality: 7th National Women’s Summit & Expo Set to Empower

The summit’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” reflects the urgent need for collective effort to break down barriers and empower women in all aspects of life. Organized by Charterhouse, the event will feature a stellar lineup of trailblazing women who will share their experiences, insights, and expertise to inspire and motivate participants.

Panel 1: Corporate & Public Sector Panel – Breaking Barriers

The summit will kick off with a keynote address by Mrs. Efua Ghartey, President of the Ghana Bar Association, who will emphasize the importance of intentional and proactive leadership in advancing gender equality. Her Excellency Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, Commonwealth Secretary-General, will also share her vision for a more inclusive and equitable world.

A distinguished panel of women, including Sheila Minkah-Premo, Janet Sunkwa-Mills, Maidie Elizabeth Arkutu, and H.E Juliette Bynoe-Sutherland, will delve into the challenges women face in the corporate and public sectors, exploring the power of affirmative action and strategies for overcoming barriers.

Panel 2: Women in Business & Entrepreneurship (SMEs) – Scaling New Heights

This panel will showcase inspiring women who have built and scaled successful businesses, sharing their experiences and insights on navigating challenges, securing funding, and growing their enterprises. Panelists include Amma Gyampo, Angela Mensah-Poku, Felicia Twumasi, Deloris Frimpong-Manso (Delay), and Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku.

Youth Leadership: Empowering the Next Generation

The summit will also focus on empowering the next generation of young women leaders, with a special emphasis on making the Affirmative Law a reality. Panelists Barbara Nti Nkansah and Ohenewaa Constance Ankoma will lead this discussion.

Women in Agribusiness: From Farm to Table

Agriculture is a vital sector in Ghana’s economy, and women are playing a crucial role in transforming the agricultural landscape. The *Gastro Feastival Launch will bring together women in agribusiness to explore production, processing, distribution, and consumption. Panelists include Joyce Sackitey-Ahiadorme, Esther Kyerewaa Twumasi, Sandra Asantewaa Boafo Agyiri, Enyonam Manye Adjetey, and Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa.
