Authorities in the United Kingdom (UK) have taken two men into custody following a suspected antisemitic arson attack that targeted four ambulances serving a Jewish community in north London earlier this week.
According to police, the suspects—aged 47 and 45—were apprehended at separate locations in northwest and central London. Both remain in custody as investigations continue.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, when the ambulances were deliberately set ablaze. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the incident, calling it a “deeply shocking antisemitic arson attack.”
Investigators are exploring multiple leads, including a possible connection to Iran. CCTV footage indicates that at least three individuals may have been involved in carrying out the attack.
Security has since been heightened in affected areas across north London, with an increased police presence aimed at reassuring local residents.
Meanwhile, the SITE Intelligence monitoring service reported that an Iran-linked militant network has claimed responsibility, suggesting the attack may be part of a broader pattern of similar incidents seen across Europe.
