Adedeji Adeleke Confirms DNA Results: Davido is Not the Father of 12-Year-Old Anu

In a detailed press conference held in Lagos on Wednesday, Adedeji Adeleke, the father of Afrobeats superstar Davido, addressed the long-standing paternity claims involving his son and 12-year-old Anuoluwapo. Mr. Adeleke stated that while his son cannot take responsibility for a child that is not his, “Anu deserves to know her father.”

The Evidence: Five Negative DNA Tests

Mr. Adeleke revealed that a total of five DNA tests have been conducted over the years to verify the claims. According to him, all five tests returned negative results, conclusively excluding Davido as the biological father.

He detailed the first test conducted in 2014 at Vedic Lifecare Hospital in Lagos, with samples sent to South Africa for analysis. “The results showed a 0.00 percent match,” Adeleke explained, noting that the samples were taken using saliva in the presence of the grandmother, the mother, and the child. To ensure total transparency at the time, he even offered to pay for two additional tests at separate reputable centers, both of which also returned negative results.

Secret Financial Support

Despite the scientific results, Mr. Adeleke disclosed that he has been quietly supporting Anu for years without Davido’s knowledge.

  • Support Provided: He has regularly sent money for her school fees and upkeep.
  • Verification: He noted that Anu’s aunt provides receipts and evidence of purchases made for the child.
  • Motivation: He explained that his support was a humanitarian gesture, stating, “Is it that I cannot afford to take care of her? But there is science. And science is clear.”

Counterclaims and the Call for New Testing

The dispute resurfaced recently after Anu allegedly appealed on social media for a fresh DNA test due to years of bullying. The child’s mother, Ayotomide Labinjoh, has disputed the “five tests” claim, alleging that only one test was actually conducted in 2014 and that it was “compromised.” She is now calling for a fresh, independent test supervised by the U.S. Embassy or State Department to ensure transparency.

Addressing Misinformation

Mr. Adeleke also took the opportunity to address social media narratives, specifically criticizing personality Kemi Olunloyo. He accused her of impersonation and refuted her claims of having been a “best friend” to his late wife, stating he had never met her.

Final Stance on Privacy

When asked why the DNA reports have not been made public, Adeleke emphasized the danger of putting sensitive genetic profiles in the public domain. He urged the public to ignore misleading online narratives and trust the scientific clarity provided by the multiple tests already completed.
