Stonebwoy Wins Artiste of The Year Award At 25th Ghana Music Awards

Ghanaian reggae and dancehall musician, Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has been adjudged the Artsite of The Year at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

 

The 25th edition of the annual Telecel Ghana Music Awards ceremony was held on Saturday night in the Ghanaian capital, Accra on June 1, 2024.

 

Inside the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Center, Stonebwoy, the ‘Nominate’ hitmaker beat competition from five other tough contenders namely Kuami Eugene, Nacee, King Promise and Black Sherif.

 

It is Stonebwoy’s second TMGA Artiste of The Year award and one that no one possibly saw coming, especially looking at the achievements of musicians like King Promise in recent years.

 

Aside the Artiste of The Year honor, Stonebwoy won other awards namely: Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste, Songwriter of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Dancehall Artiste of The Year, Best International Collaboration of the Year.

Receiving his award, Stonebwoy expressed profound gratitude to God and everyone who have supported his music career, saying: “I just want to say thanks to the Most High God. Thank you mama wherever you are, thank you for showering your blessings upon your son. I wrote a long speech but I am lost for words.”

Prior to the Awards ceremony on Saturday, King Promise had said in an interview with Accra-based radio station Hit FM that he will be surprise if he didn’t Artiste of The Year this year.
