Majority Leader and Builsa North MP James Agalga has cautioned members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against allowing internal rivalry ahead of the party’s constituency elections to undermine its preparations for the 2028 general elections.
In an appeal to party members ahead of Saturday’s, October 24, constituency polls, Mr Agalga urged candidates and their supporters to prioritise the party’s collective interest over individual ambitions.
He stressed that although the elections were an important part of building the party’s grassroots leadership, members must exercise restraint in their campaigns and avoid personal attacks that could create divisions.
“We all have a stake in the 2028 journey. Let us not undermine that future in our quest to serve the Party today,” he said.
Mr Agalga further called for peaceful engagements throughout the electoral process, urging party members to demonstrate unity, love and respect in their interactions.
He said the process should be free from insults and character assassination, adding that the outcome should leave the NDC stronger and more united.
The Majority Leader also wished all aspirants well, expressing hope that the elections would be conducted peacefully and that the best candidates would emerge victorious.
