Nearly 7 million people nationwide participated in the second wave of “No Kings” protests against President Donald Trump and his administration — the largest single-day demonstration against a sitting U.S. president in modern history, according to organizers.
After spending Saturday on the golf course, Trump returned to Mar-a-Lago and posted several messages on Truth Social, including an AI-generated video depicting himself wearing a crown, piloting a jet, and dropping brown liquid on a crowd of protesters.
Demonstrations took place in over 2,500 cities and towns, with participants condemning what organizers described as Trump’s “authoritarian power grabs.” The first “No Kings” protests in June drew an estimated 5 million participants.
In a Fox Business interview aired Sunday, Trump insisted, “I’m not a king,” but hinted at invoking the Insurrection Act — a centuries-old law allowing a president to deploy the military within the U.S. to suppress civil unrest. The law was last used in 1992.
“Don’t forget, I can use the Insurrection Act — and that’s unquestioned power,” Trump said, appearing to reference the possibility of sending troops to U.S. cities as part of his ongoing crime crackdown. “I choose not to. I’d rather do this.”
