The Confederation of African Football (CAF) says it has received correspondence from FIFA regarding the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise initiative and will begin consultations on the proposal with its leadership and member associations.
In a statement issued on Wednesday evening, July 29, 2026, CAF disclosed that it had received communication from world football’s governing body as part of an ongoing consultation process involving FIFA Member Associations and the FIFA Council.
According to CAF, “The Confederation Africaine de Football (“CAF“) received correspondence today from FIFA on the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise initiative, in accordance with the consultation process that is currently underway with FIFA Member Associations and the FIFA Council.”
The African football governing body announced that CAF President, Patrice Motsepe, will convene a meeting of the CAF Executive Committee next week to consider the proposal.
“As part of this consultation process, the CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe, will host a meeting of the CAF Executive Committee next week, to inter-alia, assess and evaluate the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise initiative,” the statement said.
CAF also called on its Member Associations to study the proposal and take part in the consultation process in line with existing regulations and procedures.
“CAF also encourages its Member Associations to examine the FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal and participate in the consultation process in accordance with CAF and FIFA’s regulations and established procedures,” the organization stated.
The body reiterated its commitment to working closely with football stakeholders across the globe to secure greater resources for the sport’s development.
“CAF is committed to continue consulting and working together with its Member Associations, FIFA, other Football Confederations and stakeholders in support of increasing financial and other resources for the development and growth of football in Africa and worldwide,” the statement added.
The FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal is currently being reviewed through FIFA’s consultation framework, with input expected from football associations and governing bodies across the world.
