President John Dramani Mahama has named Korle Klottey MP, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, as Minister-designate for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, and reassigned the Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, to serve as Minister for Defence.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the President submitted the changes to Parliament through the Speaker in line with Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution.
As part of the reshuffle, Ahmed Ibrahim, MP, has been moved from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs to the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.
President Mahama has also nominated Mahama Ayariga as Minister-designate for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.
The nominations will take effect subject to parliamentary approval.
