Pop superstar Dua Lipa has reportedly parted ways with her longtime team member, David Levy, after learning he signed a letter to the Glastonbury Festival requesting the ban of pro-Palestine group Kneecap from performing.
Levy, a veteran in the music industry, was reportedly the first signatory on the letter. The move came after the Belfast-based rappers were accused of supporting Hezbollah and promoting terrorism following a pro-Palestine statement they made at Coachella in April.
According to a source who spoke to The Mail on Sunday, the split was a direct result of the difference in their political views. “Dua made sure through her people that David Levy wasn’t working on her music any more,” the source stated. “She is very openly pro-Palestine, and that doesn’t align with David. She views him as being a supporter of Israel’s war in Gaza, and the terrible treatment of the Palestinians and that was made very clear through the letter that he signed and sent to Michael Eavis.”
Dua Lipa, 30, has been an outspoken advocate for the Palestinian cause. The incident highlights the growing influence of political views in the entertainment industry and how they can affect professional relationships.
