Man Banned from Stadiums After Racially Abusing Antoine Semenyo

A 47-year-old man from Liverpool has been banned from every football stadium in the UK after being accused of racially abusing Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo. The incident took place during Bournemouth’s match against Liverpool at Anfield. The first half was briefly halted after Semenyo reported the abuse to the referee.

Police confirmed the man’s arrest and subsequent release on bail, with conditions that prohibit him from attending any regulated football match in the UK and from being within a mile of any football stadium. Merseyside Police stated that the investigation is ongoing.

Despite the incident, Semenyo scored twice in the match. The 25-year-old Ghanaian international later wrote on social media about the “best side” of football, praising his teammates, Liverpool players and fans, and Premier League officials.
