Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has shared a troubling update on her health, disclosing that bullet fragments from a 2019 assassination attempt remain lodged in her head, causing ongoing medical issues. In an Instagram post on July 14, 2025, the 39-year-old actress detailed her recent struggles, stating, “Last two weeks have been so hectic lovers. It’s been one hospital or the other running some series of tests on my head and body, and I haven’t been feeling too well either, so my doctor advised I should be placed on bed rest. Seriously, good health is underestimated.”
Okorie revealed that recent medical scans uncovered additional bullet fragments in her skull, contributing to symptoms like blurry vision and persistent headaches. “I went for my checkups, and found out that there were still fragments of bullet in my head. As years go by, even more bullets still come out. But at the end of the day, God showeth mercy,” she wrote, expressing gratitude for her survival and ending with the hashtag #legitqueen.
The actress survived a violent attack in December 2019 while driving her Mercedes-Benz SUV, when gunmen she described as “assassins” fired at her vehicle for 30 minutes, leaving her with severe injuries. She reported that 10 bullets were removed from her head and two near her eyes, with X-rays confirming multiple fragments in her skull. Okorie has consistently alleged that the attack was orchestrated by individuals within the Nollywood industry, vowing never to forgive those responsible.
In a 2023 interview, Okorie shared that the incident left her with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), insomnia, and acute stress disorder, requiring constant security surveillance for over three years. Her latest health update, accompanied by videos of medical scans, has prompted an outpouring of support from fans and fellow actors on social media, who are offering prayers and well wishes for her recovery.
