Veteran Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has publicly apologized to his wife, Natasha Osawaru, his children, and fans after facing backlash for a recent comment about men and monogamy.
During a podcast appearance, the Afrobeats legend stirred controversy by claiming that men are naturally not designed to be sexually committed to one woman, stating, “A man is not built to sexually be with one woman. A man can love one woman to death, but it’s impossible for a man to sexually be with one woman only. It’s the biology of man.” The remark quickly went viral, sparking heated debates across social media platforms. While some defended the statement as a candid reflection of human nature, others criticized it as an excuse for infidelity and disrespectful to women.
Following the widespread reactions, 2Baba retracted the statement and issued an apology, describing his comment as “unlegendary” and admitting it was an ill-considered remark that should never have been made. He expressed regret to his wife, children, and loyal fans for any hurt or disappointment caused by his words.
The singer’s public apology has drawn mixed reactions, with some commending his accountability while others questioned the sincerity of his remorse.
