Tamayo Perry, a legendary surfer and actor of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ has been killed by a shark.
Perry, aged 49, was killed in the shark attack on Sunday afternoon, June 23, 2024 while surfing in Hawaii.
His death has since been confirmed by the Honolulu’s Emergency Services in a press conference.
Emergency services were reportedly called to Malaekahana Beach around 13:00 but the actor was produced dead by paramedics after he was brought to shore by jet ski.
Aside ‘Pirates of The Caribbean’, Perry also featured in ‘Lost’, ‘Hawaii Five-0’, ‘Blue Crush’ and the ‘Charlie’s Angels Sequel.’
He also made appearances in adverts by Coca-Cola.
Addressing the press conference, the acting Honolulu Ocean Safety boss, Kurt Lager, noted that Perry was a “lifeguard loved by all.”
According to him, Perry was well-known on Oahu’s north shore as well as around the world.
He added: “Tamayo’s personality was infectious, and as much as people loved him, he loved everyone else more,” saying “Our condolences go out to Tamayo’s family.”
