Business Africa Online, organisers of the Entertainment, Media, Technology and Arts Conference and Awards has awarded Premier Records Limited with the ‘Recording Company Legacy Award.’
The award, according to the organisers, is in recognition of the label’s contribution in the music and entertainment sector.
The award ceremony was held at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos, and in attendance were media and entertainment personalities.
The conference, themed, ‘Redefining Entertainment and Media Business In A World of AI,’ focused on the emerging technology in the media and entertainment sector with very advanced means of getting jobs done through AI.
Some of the speakers and panelists agreed that technological advancement has brought about easy penetration into the African market through means like streaming platforms and mobile phones.
The CEO of Premier Records Limited, Michael Odiong who was present during the awards, thanked the organisers for recognising the company’s hard work and consistency as one of Nigeria’s oldest and largest catalogue record labels.
Odiong said: “Being in business, especially the music sector, for 61 years is no mean feat. It takes a lot of courage, humility and determination to survive the terrain. We are proud of how far we have come and we want to spend another 50 years innovating new ideas.”
