ODUMODUBLVCK: Abuja Rap Powerhouse Featured on Apple Music’s Rap Life Radio to Discuss ‘INDUSTRY MACHINE’

Apple Music’s Rap Life Radio, hosted by Global Editorial Head of Hip-Hop and R&B Ebro Darden and Africa Now Radio host Nandi Madida, will spotlight Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter, ODUMODUBLVCK. The episode will feature an in-depth discussion about his new album, INDUSTRY MACHINE, and all the latest hip-hop news and hottest tracks from across Africa.

The Abuja-based artist is celebrating a landmark year, having accumulated close to 40 million streams across platforms. His new album is noted for delivering raw, hard-hitting bars that reflect the stark realities of urban Nigerian life.

The Rise of Okporoko Rhythms

ODUMODUBLVCK first gained significant attention in 2023 with his breakout single “Declan Rice,” named after the Arsenal footballer. His unique sound, which blends influences from drill, grime, Fela Kuti-inspired Afrobeat, and progressive R&B, has led him to coin his own genre: Okporoko Rhythms.

Speaking about the significance of his rise and the album cover, ODUMODUBLVCK told Apple Music:

“This cover is bigger than me. It’s for Abuja, for Naija, for every young blood that believed in raw sound before the world tuned in.”

He further explained the ethos behind his new project, stating: “When I say the machine, I’m talking about a system built on three things: diligence, versatility, and togetherness. My journey is bigger than me — it’s my team, my city, and my fans moving as one. That’s the energy I bring to this industry.”

Cultural Impact and Collaborations

Beyond his music, ODUMODUBLVCK has cemented a unique cultural presence, collaborating with major brands like Patta & Nike and working with visual provocateurs such as Slawn, Soldier Boyfriend, and Ciesay (Places+Faces). He has also performed at high-profile events, including Skepta’s Big Smoke Festival and Burna Boy’s historic London Stadium show.

The featured episode will also spotlight other African music visionaries, including South African producer Kay Faith, who returns with her trap-heavy single “Online,” featuring Kenji TMZ, Creed Oasis, and Bhutlegend. Also featured is Brotherkupa with his new single “Please Don’t Kill My Vibe,” featuring Blxckie and K1llbrady.
