New lasting connections and opportunities abound with Barcamp Accra 2024

The very first Barcamp in Ghana was on December 23, 2008 – networking young Ghanaians in Ghana with those abroad, in the central node for Ghanaians everywhere – Accra. Barcamp Accra 2024 is the umpteenth of such events in the nation’s capital – a truly diverse city which houses a lot of awesome young Ghanaians.

The event is on  Saturday, 30th November 2024 at the Central Cafeteria, Legon, in Accra. The theme is “Culture | Finance | Quality“. BarCamps in Ghana are organized primarily by the GhanaThink Foundation, an organization based both in Ghana and the USA. Barcamp Accra 2024 is a day of networking, learning, sharing, and mentoring.

Bright Atsu heard about Barcamps in Ghana from Gameli Adzaho who was his Biology tutor in Ketasco. He also participated in the very first ever Junior Camp Ghana program at Ketascoin 2013. Currently, he is the Barcamp Accra lead/coordinator. Traveling to other cities for Barcamps and experiencing their culture is exhilarating”. Barcamp Ghana is building a network of changemakers, doers and entrepreneurs. Barcamps drive the personal development of many youth in Ghana.

My major highlight was during one of the breakout sessions, I had the opportunity to learn from the CEO of DigiExt, who shared insights on the company’s eco-friendly approach to waste management. He explained how they use innovative engineering designs to convert waste into paper products, which expanded my understanding of waste recycling and its potential for sustainability”. Barcamps help people find partners in all forms – especially in business. Gabriel added: “I also had the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, forming valuable relationships that have continued to enrich my professional and personal life. I have always looked forward to other Barcamps since my first experience because the collaborative nature encourages open dialogue and constructive feedback, ensuring a supportive learning environment”.
