Nana Akua Addo Denies Creative Theft Claims Over AMVCA Cathedral Look

German-born Ghanaian actress Nana Akua Addo has pushed back against allegations of creative theft from fashion brand ALmée Couture.

The dispute centers on the cathedral-inspired outfit Addo wore to the 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) on Saturday at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos. The look quickly became one of the standout moments of the night.

In a recent Instagram post, Addo said she initially reached out to ALmée Couture to create the outfit. She stated the collaboration didn’t move forward after disagreements over how her vision would be executed.

The actress’s statement appears to directly counter ALmée Couture’s claims that she used their design without credit.
