The 2025 edition of the annual Anidaso Easter Gala for the people of Offinso North Constituency in the Ashanti region of Ghana was classic and historic.
Unlike last year when the event took place on the rough Lions Park at Akumadan,this year’s Easter soccer festival happened on the Akumadan Lions Astro Turf, constructed by the Member of Parliament (MP),for the area, Hon.Dr.Fred Kyei Asamoah, to keep faith with his people.
Addressing the mammoth crowd who thronged the new field for the 4-day soccer fiesta, Dr Asamoah said the gesture was to help accelerate the development, progress and transformation of the area, through sports and recreation, especially, football.
The MP reiterated that the area abounds in great football talents and expressed his desire to harness for greater opportunities.
“In the next five years, we must produce quality footballers, who could compete well with both local and international leagues, and our new Astro Turf could also host local and international competitions, “he postulated.
Fourteen Male and five Female teams from five zones, namely: Akumadan, Afrancho, Nkenkensu,Daaso-Nkwaakwaa and Nsenua,competed for honors at the classic, FIFA standardized Astro Turf, with flood lights, VAR and other artifacts,which sent the matches into nights.
Akumadan Faith Young Boys and Akumadan Ladies, both from the Akumadan Zone, emerged winners in the Male and female categories, respectively.
They took home handsome cash prizes, trophies, and Medals.
All competing teams, as well as teams and individuals who excelled in the tournament, received various heartwarming reward packages from the adorable MP.
