Mfantsiman Girls SHS Gears Up for Grand 65th Speech and Prize-Giving Day Celebration

Saltpond, Central Region – Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School is set to host its much-anticipated 65th Speech and Prize-Giving Day and Homecoming from March 14th to 16th, drawing thousands of students, alumni, and dignitaries to celebrate excellence in education.

 

This year’s event, themed “Leveraging New Media Technology to Optimize Girl Child Education,” is being hosted by the MOGA 2000 Year Group and will focus on harnessing digital tools to enhance learning opportunities for girls, particularly in underserved communities. The event aims to inspire a tech-driven approach to education, creating inclusive and engaging learning environments for future generations.

 

The President of the Mfantsiman Old Girls’ Association (MOGA), Mrs. Henrietta Opokua Amissah, commended the millennium year group for their commitment to ensuring a memorable and impactful celebration. She emphasized that beyond the festivities, the event serves as a platform to recognize outstanding academic achievements, with awards set to be presented to students who excelled in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and internal school assessments.

 

The three-day celebration will feature career guidance and counseling sessions, a candlelight procession, a fitness program, and a grand durbar that will bring together key dignitaries, alumni, and students. The event will climax with a thanksgiving service and an inter-house fundraising competition to support ongoing school development projects.

 

High-profile guests expected to grace the occasion include Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, Minister of Gender, Children & Social Protection Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, and Ambassador Jane Gasu Aheto as Guests of Honour. Beatrice Dadson, Esq. will chair the event, with Petra Aba Asamoah, General Manager of Oduma Solutions Limited, as the Guest Speaker.

 

Adding to the tradition, the 2001-year group will take the baton for the 66th Speech and Prize-Giving Day next year.

 

With over 5,000 old students and current students expected to attend, this milestone event promises to be a remarkable celebration of academic excellence, mentorship, and the power of technology in shaping the future of girl child education.
