Ghanaian singer, songwriter and creative visionary X Lor has officially released his highly anticipated debut extended play (EP), Tornado, marking a defining milestone in his career and introducing the world to his self-created music genre, ABL (Angels Beyond Limitations).
Available today on all major digital streaming platforms, the seven-track project represents years of artistic experimentation, personal growth and musical evolution. Rich in emotion and storytelling, Tornado explores love, unconditional devotion, forgiveness, loyalty, second chances, vulnerability and healing, offering listeners an intimate journey through the many dimensions of human connection.
Speaking about the project, X Lor described Tornado as the culmination of years spent discovering his own artistic identity.
“TORNADO is a deeply personal body of work that showcases years of musical experimentation and growth, helping shape my own sound and genre, ABL. The EP explores themes of love, unconditional devotion, forgiveness, second chances, loyalty, and the beauty of choosing one person wholeheartedly.”
The project opens with “I Gotchu,” a heartfelt anthem built around trust, reassurance and faith. According to the artist, the song encourages listeners to embrace love without fear.
“It encourages listeners to let themselves be loved completely without fear, doubt, or emotional barriers. Even during times of uncertainty, you only need to give in to the unknown and trust that the universe will make it beautiful.”
The title track, “Tornado,” celebrates admiration, romance and lasting affection while highlighting the beauty of melanin. “By 7” reflects on longing and the desire to preserve meaningful relationships, while “They Nuh Fi Know” explores intimacy, privacy and the unspoken emotions shared between two people.
Meanwhile, “On My Mind” focuses on unwavering loyalty and companionship, “Go Away” confronts the difficult decision to choose self-preservation over a relationship, and the closing record, “Till the End,” concludes the project with a passionate expression of commitment and enduring love.
Reflecting on the EP’s deeper meaning, X Lor emphasized that Tornado is more than just a collection of songs.
“TORNADO is a collection of emotions, experiences, and perspectives on love in its many forms—its beauty, its challenges, its sacrifices, and its lasting impact. This project was successfully brought to life through the Lord and higher spiritual forces. Physically, I was merely a vessel used to convey the message.”
He also acknowledged the people who helped bring the project to life.

Beyond the EP itself, Tornado serves as the strongest introduction yet to ABL (Angels Beyond Limitations), the original genre X Lor created to define his unique artistic vision. Blending Afrobeats, Highlife, R&B, Soul, Gospel and contemporary African music, ABL reflects the singer’s commitment to authenticity, spirituality, emotional honesty and limitless creativity.
Since launching his professional career in 2018, X Lor has steadily established himself as one of Ghana’s most promising independent artists. His breakthrough single “By 7” has surpassed 100,000 streams across digital platforms, while his songwriting credits include collaborations with Mya Sima, Naja and Whitnee Dee. He has also contributed songwriting, vocal arrangements and vocal production assistance for respected Ghanaian artists Guru and Akan, in addition to sharing stages with KiDi, Mr Drew and Coco Vanilla.
Away from music, X Lor is equally accomplished professionally. A graduate of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) with a degree in Information Technology specializing in Database Administration, he currently serves in the Cybersecurity Unit of GCB Bank PLC, balancing a successful technology career alongside his rapidly growing music journey.
