It’s believed Chiefs are willing to give the new coach and his staff authority to lead them in a new era. Amakhosi have not won silverware for the past nine years now and currently fighting to finish in the top eight. The risk of going a full decade without a trophy is surely giving the club’s management sleepless nights. It is for this reason that, this next coaching appointment could be undoubtedly the most significant in the clubs history.
CHIEFS SEARCHING FOR A NEW COACH
Former interim coach Cavin Johnson initially harboured ambitions of becoming the permanent coach at Chiefs.
A run which saw Chiefs winning three of their last four games of 2024, saw Johnson in with a shout. But now according to the latest, the club are back looking at other candidates. There have been the likes of Pitso Mosimane and Manqoba Mngqithi in a local sense.
Portuguese coach Alexander Santos was regarded as the front runner for the job.
But in a shock turn of events, reports suggested that TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic is the lead candidate. After his relegation with Abha Club, number one candidate, Mosimane also seems like a possibility again for the Chiefs job.
Another name that had previously been linked is that of McCarthy. Although not known to be on the current list, he has often spoken kindly of Chiefs. Now, speaking to Marawa Sports Worldwide.
