Mozambique First Lady Provides Food, Blankets to 700 Malawians Fleeing Xenophobic Attacks

Mozambique’s First Lady, Gueta Chapo, has provided humanitarian aid to some 700 Malawian citizens fleeing deadly xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

She supported the Malawians various items and fed them.

The Malawians were at Maputo bus terminal awaiting transport to Malawi.

Madam Chapo distributed blankets, food and water last night, and also contacted transport companies to take them to the city of Tete enroute to Mwanza, Malawian media outlet, Capital FM reported.

According to her, as a mother, she views every citizen, regardless of their origin as her own child.
