Kenneth Law, a 60 year-old man in Canada, has pleaded guilty to aiding suicides world wide after he was found selling toxic chemicals online.
As part of a deal with Canadian prosecutors, Kenneth entered the guilty pleas in an Ontario court on Friday.
After he entered the guilty pleas, prosecutors withdrew more serious murder charges against him.
According to prosecutors, Kenneth is a former chef.
Authorities said he also sold about 1,200 packages of the toxic substances to recipients – whom he met in online suicide forums – across 40 countries.
Canadian prosecutors said roughly a quarter of the toxic substances were sent to the United Kingdom (UK).
At least 79 Britons’ deaths are alleged to be linked to the toxic substances sold by Kenneth.
But all charges leveled against relate to Canadian victims, making families of British victims angry that UK prosecutors would not charge Kenneth over the 79 British citizens.
