The building collapse which happened on Sunday, March 29, 2026 injured 20 persons.
Director-General of GES, Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, told Accra-based Citi News on Monday, March 30, 2026, after a briefing with security officials at the school, that GES will convene an emergency meeting to determine the next steps.
He says until safety can be fully assured, students have been instructed to stay away from the school.
According to Prof. Davis, “We are going to work with the regional and the national team, so we will work with the estate department to ensure that the other structure is indeed fit for that purpose. If they are not, we will advise the students not to go into such areas.”
