Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, on Thursday held a closed-door meeting with top security officials, including Tunji Disu, the inspector-general of police, on rising cases of terrorism in Nigeria.
The meeting, which lasted nearly two hours, took place at the State House in Abuja. Security chiefs arrived quietly in the afternoon, and discussions ended around 5:10 p.m.
Among those present were Christopher Musa, minister of defence; Nuhu Ribadu, the national security adviser; Adeola Ajayi, director-general of the Department of State Services; and Olufemi Oluyede, the chief of defence staff.
Also in attendance were Waidi Shaibu, chief of army staff; Kelvin Aneke, chief of air staff; and Idi Abbas, chief of naval staff.
