“One of the Most Toxic”: Isaac Fayose Slams Sophia Momodu Over Davido Custody Battle

Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has waded into the high-profile child custody dispute between Afrobeats superstar Davido and his former partner, Sophia Momodu. In a fiery video shared on Instagram, Fayose offered a scathing critique of Momodu’s character and her legal strategy.

Allegations of “Toxic” Behavior

Fayose did not mince words, labeling Momodu “one of the most toxic baby mamas anyone can wish for.” His criticism was primarily centered on the recent revelation that Davido’s late son, Ifeanyi, was mentioned during cross-examination in court—an event that led Davido to drop the custody case entirely.

“How could you go to court and use Davido’s late son against him?” Fayose questioned, echoing the public outcry over what Davido described as a “lowest blow.”

Reflections on Davido’s Career and Marriage

Expressing relief on behalf of the singer, Fayose suggested that a marriage between the two would have been disastrous for Davido’s professional and personal life.

“Davido, I am happy for you that you didn’t marry Sophia. She would have destroyed your life and career,” he stated. He further alleged that Momodu, who is older than the singer, had attempted to “trap” him with a child, remarking, “Now I know why no man has married her… you thought you could pin him down with a child.”

Advice to the Adeleke Family

Addressing the wider Adeleke family, Fayose urged them to step back from the legal friction and ignore what he termed “antics.” He advised that they allow their daughter, Imade, to remain with her mother for the time being to avoid further public drama.

“When Imade is of age, she will come back home,” he noted, suggesting that the father-daughter bond would eventually transcend the current legal and social media conflict.

Context of the Controversy

Fayose’s comments come at a time when the Nigerian public is deeply divided over the ethics of the courtroom confrontation. While some support the mother’s right to full custody, many—including high-profile commentators like Fayose—have sided with Davido after he claimed his late son’s tragedy was weaponized against him.

As of now, Sophia Momodu has not responded to Isaac Fayose’s specific allegations or the “toxic” label.
