Reality star and singer Ray J, 44 (real name William Ray Norwood Jr.), was arrested around 4 a.m. Thursday by Los Angeles police following a domestic dispute involving his estranged wife, Princess Love. The incident allegedly involved a firearm and may have stemmed from a custody dispute over their children.
Jail records confirmed Ray J’s arrest after police were called to the scene. The LAPD told said that the dispute was domestic and potentially armed.
Viral Livestream Footage
Footage from a Twitch livestream quickly circulated online, showing the rapper visibly loading a pistol while making an emotional statement related to his children:
“Ain’t nobody taking my kids away from me on Thanksgiving,” Ray J could be heard saying on the stream.
The same footage captured Princess Love, 41, crying while carrying one of their children as she confronted him: “You pointed a gun at us.” Ray J denied the accusation on the stream, responding: “I didn’t point nothing at y’all.”
The singer and Princess Love married in 2016 and have since filed for divorce four times, most recently in February 2024. The former couple share two children: daughter Melody, seven, and son Epik, five.
Ray J is the younger brother of R&B star Brandy and cousin of Snoop Dogg. He is also famously known for dating Kim Kardashian in the early 2000s, with a sex tape showing the couple being leaked online in 2007.
