The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 13 new Mpox infections as of October 1, 2025, bringing the total number of recorded cases nationwide to 670. The update reflects a gradual increase in reported infections over recent weeks.
According to the GHS, three deaths have been recorded, while one patient remains hospitalized and is receiving treatment.
Health officials have reiterated that Mpox is primarily spread through close contact with infected persons, including contact with skin lesions, body fluids, or contaminated materials.
The GHS has urged the public to practice strict personal hygiene, avoid close contact with anyone exhibiting symptoms, and report immediately to the nearest health facility if they experience signs such as fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills, or fatigue.
Health authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and have assured the public that containment and surveillance measures remain in effect to prevent further spread.
