Ghana: CID Rescues 110 Cameroonian and Ivorian Nationals from Suspected Qnet Scam in Kuntunse

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has rescued 110 foreign nationals from a suspected Qnet-related scam operation at Kuntunse Satellite in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.

The victims, mostly Cameroonian and Ivorian nationals, were allegedly lured into Ghana with promises of high-paying jobs but were later subjected to exploitative conditions under the guise of network marketing.

Police carried out the early morning operation after weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering. The rescued victims are currently in protective custody as investigations continue to identify the masterminds and dismantle the network behind the scheme.

Preliminary findings indicate that the perpetrators used Qnet, a controversial online marketing platform, as a front to recruit and exploit unsuspecting individuals from other West African countries.

The CID reaffirmed its commitment to combating human trafficking and transnational scam networks. It also urged the public to remain vigilant and skeptical of job offers that require advance payments or come through unverified recruiters.

Authorities say efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest key figures in the criminal syndicate believed to be operating across multiple regions.
