Kim Kardashian is facing a new wave of criticism after her 12-year-old daughter, North West, was seen with what appears to be a dermal finger piercing during a recent family vacation in Rome.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed the single-point piercing on the preteen’s middle finger, which has no separate entry and exit point for jewelry, unlike traditional piercings. The piercing and jewelry company, Lulu Ave, has previously warned that such piercings “may not heal well due to the constant use of the hands and the risk of the jewelry getting snagged or bumped.”
The discovery has ignited outrage among social media critics. One user on Reddit pointed out a red bump near the piercing, speculating, “Oof that looks like it’s infected!!” Another critic questioned the decision, writing, “Who the f—k lets their 12 year old have piercings? And who the f—k pierces a 12 year old? My kid didn’t even have her ears pierced at 12.”
The backlash has been swift, with comments like, “She’s 12. Wtf is Kim doing?!” and “It already looks rejected and painful… Poor girl.”
However, one person defended Kardashian, 44, suggesting, “Who cares, I think it’s a good compromise if your child wants a piercing.”
