The Lone Ager returns for the next installment of his grand discography: ‘Lone Age’. The long awaited EP succeeds the esteemed ‘Earth 2’, loaded with 4 powerful tracks in its lonely chamber. This age serves as a statement that in the Lonely Isle, L1TRENDSETTER is Brainiac.
He sets the tone with the self-titled intro ‘Lone Ager’, a grudge match suppressed within a minute and some change. The same manic values are held on the cinematic ‘Ace Ventura’, where he boasts himself “Commander of Maniacs.” As expected, the trendsetter shape-shifts into a reminiscent state for the project’s concluding half, paying more attention to his losses than his trophies.
The jolly ’3d’ comes as his first take in this form, with trance-like production led by dark, vivid expressions of the Ager’s experience with toxicity. He admits, “Man, I need me a place for comfort.” The loner’s ballad, ‘Oblivious’, wraps up this EP with the Brainiac’s signature otherworldly sound, complimented by a crumbling choir of fallen angels. Expressions like, “Overthinking ‘bout to start soon,” & “Praying that my angel come through,” succeed in laying bare his self destructive tendencies.
All in all, this EP affirms that L1 is setting sail to Lone Island; and he’s taking the Maniacs with him.
