Liverpool Football Club are reportedly preparing to negotiate with Napoli for striker Victor Osimhen as part of their strategy to defend the Premier League title. Sources from Anfield indicate the club’s board is considering Osimhen as a potential replacement for Darwin Nunez, who has struggled to make an impact since joining the team.
Osimhen, renowned for his goal-scoring ability, speed, aerial dominance, and clinical finishing, has proven himself as one of Europe’s top strikers. Despite interest from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, Osimhen declined offers, expressing his desire to remain in Europe to compete at the highest level of football.
During his 2024-25 season loan at Galatasaray, Osimhen scored an impressive 33 goals in 37 matches, surpassing his previous personal best of 31 goals set with Napoli. His contributions were instrumental in Galatasaray clinching their 25th Turkish Super Lig title.
Napoli have set Osimhen’s buy-out clause at £75 million, though his reported wage demand of £350,000 per week could pose a challenge for potential suitors.
