Renowned Black American actress and comedian, Caryn Elaine Johnson, known professionally as Whoopi Goldberg, has slammed US President Donald Trump for falsely claiming there is genocide against white people in South Africa.
Addressing Trump’s “white genocide” claims on ABC television’s ‘The View’ show, Goldberg says there was nothing like a genocide happening in South Africa.
Goldberg says “I have made movies in South Africa, I been in South Africa. There’s no white genocide. There’s not a genocide happening. There is crime, as there is all over the world. But it’s not about killing off white people. This is just straight.”
The 69 year-old actress who appeared so angered by Trump’s baseless claims, had to abruptly pause her speech to stop herself from finishing with the word “bullshit.”
During a recent meeting with South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, at Oval Office of The White, Trump continued the baseless conspiracy theory of a “white genocide” in South Africa.
Addressing Ramaphosa, Trump says “You’re taking people’s land and those people in many cases are being executed,” adding that
“They’re being executed. And they happen to be white, and most of them happen to be farmers.”
The US President further claimed “We have thousands of people who want to come into our country. They are also going to Australia, in smaller numbers.”
He went on to say that vast numbers of white South African farmers were fleeing to Australia.
He says “You take a look at Australia – they’re being inundated, and we’re being inundated with people that want to get out, and their farm is valueless.”
