A 7-year-old Nigerian boy has been infected with HIV after allegedly being ‘raped’ by a man. Additionally, a 15-year-old Nigerian girl has also reportedly contracted HIV after allegedly being raped by several men while hawking for her stepmother.
A doctor at the Kebbi Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi, Dr. Mustapha Mohammed, revealed the health conditions of the little boy and the girl and their sexual abuse cases.
According to the doctor in a Facebook post on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 the boy was presented to the health facility with a history of chronic diarrhea and weight loss.
He says on further examination, the boy was found to have rectal prolapse and tested positive for both Tuberculosis and HIV.
During investigation, Dr. Mohammed says the boy revealed that a man had been sodomising him.
He said the little boy revealed that the man threatened to kill him if he disclosed the abuse.
The doctor also shared the case of a 15-year-old girl who contracted HIV after being abused by multiple men while hawking for her stepmother.
Dr. Mohammed advised parents and guardians to protect their children and teach them about “bad touch”.
