South Africa’s Hollywood star, Charlize Theron, dazzled on the red carpet at the 2024 Baby2Baby Gala in West Hollywood, California.
CHARLIZE THERON ON THE RED CARPET
Theron, 49, made a striking entrance in an ivory gown. The gown had a plunging neckline and a black, structured corset by luxury fashion house Schiaparelli, according to People.
She accessorised the look with bold gold earrings, several rings, and a subtle makeup look featuring peach blush and a matching lipstick.
Her hair, styled sleek and parted to the side, completed the elegant look. The dress made Theron one of the evening’s most talked-about attendees.
THE BABY 2 BABY GALA
The Baby2Baby Gala is held at the Pacific Design Center. It honours figures who contribute significantly to women, children, and families in need.
This year, Baby2Baby awarded Theron the prestigious Giving Tree Award.
This award is in recognition of her work in gender-based violence prevention, HIV awareness, and LGBTQ+ rights.
CHARLIZE THERON’S OUTREACH PROJECT
Before the event, Theron expressed her excitement.
“I am deeply honoured to receive this award.
Baby2Baby’s dedication to serving women, children, and families is nothing short of inspiring.”
Theron’s commitment to activism is personal.
Her Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP), launched in 2007, invests in the health and safety of young people across Southern Africa, according to ABC News.
SOCIAL JUSTICE
It aims to create lasting change. The project focuses on HIV prevention, gender equality, and social justice for vulnerable communities.
“Through my work with CTAOP, I have seen first-hand the power we all can have when we invest in young people and their communities,” Theron added.
“I completely share in [Baby2Baby’s] mission to work towards a more equitable world.”
Theron’s gown was a major fashion highlight at the gala.
CHARLIZE THERON’S STYLE CHOICES
It drew attention to her impeccable style. Known for her chic yet bold choices, she made a splash earlier this year as well.
At the CTAOP Block Party in July, she opted for a sophisticated all-black outfit. The outfit included a blazer over a black bralette and a midi skirt with sparkly detailing and a sheer fringe, according to Variety.
She paired the look with Dior slingback heels featuring “J’ADIOR” on the strap.
At the Oscars in March, Theron turned heads in a silver Dior Haute Couture gown with a twist detail along the bust and sleeve. She accessorised with Boucheron jewellery.
CHARLIZE THERON RETURNS TO THE RED CARPET
In an interview with PEOPLE last year, Theron reflected on her approach to style, saying she doesn’t regret her fashion choices.
“I really feel like if you just go by how you feel and how much you love it, then it’s not a faux pas,” she said.
Theron also took to Instagram after the Baby2Baby Gala to share her excitement over returning to the red carpet.
Posting a series of photos in her Schiaparelli gown, she wrote, “Finally out of my sweats.
Thanks @schiaparelli and @danielroseberry 🖤.”
RAISING AWARENESS
Her playful comment drew attention from fans and fashion critics alike. They praised her look and the powerful cause she was supporting.
The Baby2Baby Gala raised awareness and support for the organisation. It provides basic essentials for children living in poverty in the U.S. and supports international relief.
Theron’s commitment to her roots and her ongoing work through CTAOP ensure that South Africa remains a focal point in her philanthropic efforts, even as she shines on the international stage.
