The Malian army has announced that some unidentified armed “terrorist” groups have attacked several military positions in Bamako, the capital of Mali.
According to the army, the terrorists have also launched attacks in the interior of Mali.
In a statement released on Saturday, the army announced that fighting was ongoing.
Local media reports suggest that gunfire was heard near the country’s main airport in capital Bamako.
Two explosions and sustained gunfire have been heard near Mali’s main military camp and several other locations across the military-ruled country witnesses and journalists on the ground, reported.
