Award-winning presenter Relebogile Mabotja returns to television as the host of Untied, a new Showmax Original talk show premiering on June 24, 2025. The series features Mabotja interviewing prominent South African women who have navigated divorce, starting with businesswoman Norma Mngoma, whose publicized split from former Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba made headlines.
Subsequent episodes will spotlight reality stars Beverly Steyn and Nonku Williams, actresses Dawn Thandeka King, Mona Monyane, and Palesa Madisakwane, media personality Zandi Nhlapo, and model Sonia Booth, who famously exposed her ex-husband Matthew Booth’s infidelity in the “cheesecake saga.” Each guest shares candid stories of infidelity, abuse, depression, family conflict, grief, survival, and personal renewal.
Known for creating safe spaces for storytelling, Mabotja also serves as Associate Producer for Untied, blending compassion with clarity. She challenges societal norms, stating, “We’ve been raised to see a woman’s value in whether she can attract and keep a man. ‘Untied’ challenges that idea.” Mabotja hopes the show fosters empathy, saying, “I hope viewers walk away more empathetic, not just to the women on this show, but to their partners, their friends, their sisters, and most importantly, to themselves.”
