Millions of people across the United States and globally took to the streets on Saturday to protest against President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, with over 1,300 demonstrations held worldwide. The “Hands Off!” movement, organized by a pro-democracy coalition, aims to resist what they see as a “hostile takeover” of American rights and freedoms.

Protesters gathered at state capitols, federal buildings, and city halls, demanding:
– *An End to Billionaire Power Grab*: Protesters are calling for an end to the perceived corruption and undue influence of billionaires like Elon Musk in the Trump administration.
– *Protection of Social Services*: Demonstrators are demanding an end to cuts in federal funds for essential programs like Medicaid, Social Security, and others that working people rely on.
– *Defense of Vulnerable Communities*: The movement is also advocating for an end to attacks on immigrants, trans people, and other marginalized communities.

The protests, which took place in major cities like Salt Lake City, London, and Paris, drew hundreds of thousands of people. In Salt Lake City alone, thousands gathered at the Capitol, marching down State Street to voice their dissent. Organizers claim nearly 600,000 people signed up to attend the events, which were led by a coalition of civil rights organizations, veterans, women’s rights groups, labor unions, and LGBTQ+ advocates.

As one protester put it, “Hands off our services. Hands off our rights. Hands off our communities.” The movement’s message is clear: it’s time to take a stand against policies that threaten democracy and equality.
