Liverpool Football Club completed the signing of Italy’s forward player, Federico Chiesa from Juventus on a permanent deal.
The Reds confirmed the news on its official website on Thursday, August 29 2024. Federico Chiesa joined the rest of the team after he completed his medicals less than a few hours before the end of the 2024 summer transfer window.
Federico Chiesa expressed his excitement on his first interview on Liverpool’s website,
He said,
“I am so happy to be a Liverpool player. When Richard Hughes called me and he said, ‘Do you want to join Liverpool? and the coach called me, I said yes immediately because I know the history of this club, I know what it represents to the fans. So, I’m so happy and I can’t wait to get started. And I just want to say something that stuck to my mind when I was about to land [in] the aeroplane. I saw Anfield and as soon as I saw Anfield I said to my wife, Put the song on, YNWA, because I want to imagine myself playing there and hearing the chant of the fans.”
Chiesa has 51 caps for Italy and was part of their squad for Euro 2024, will arrive after four seasons and 131 appearances with Juventus.
Chiesa joined Fiorentina’s youth set-up, working his way through the ranks towards a senior debut, aged 18, against Juventus in Serie A at the start of the 2016-17 campaign. He later joined Juventus in October 2020, initially on a two-year loan deal that became permanent in May 2022.
