The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has seized two cargo vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
One of the ships is the Epaminodes, a Liberian-flagged ship.
The second vessel, the MSC Francesca, was reportedly bound for Gujarat, India.
According to Iranian state media, both ships are now docked at Iranian ports under control of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The seizure came hours after U.S. President Donald Trump extended a two-week ceasefire between Iran and Israel.
The Strait of Hormuz carries nearly 20% of global oil and gas shipments. Any disruption could hit shipping lanes, fuel prices, and global markets.
