Real Madrid right back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, has revealed that he won’t celebrate if he happens to score against his former club, Liverpool in the Uefa Champions League.
Liverpool are scheduled to host Real Madrid at Anfield in England next week as the Champions League return from the international break.
Ahead of the Tuesday, November 4, 2025 between his current and former teams, Trent told Prime Video Sport in an interview that “When the draw was announced, I think everyone kind of knew it was going to happen…Liverpool-Real, yes…you know, it was destined for that fixture to come.”
He says “Obviously they [Liverpool] are a top team, I knew at some stage, at some point, I would end up playing vs Liverpool…It’s happening so soon so it’s mixed emotions.”
According to him, “The reception and the atmosphere will contribute, but more so, the football to me as having played there and under the coach, I understand how good a team they are. And although they haven’t had the results of late, they’re still a top footballing team”.
Trent added that “There were a lot of messages! Roberson and Mo Salah, Ibou Konate…we were all laughing because everybody knew it was going to happen.!”
He says “If I was to score, I wouldn’t celebrate to be honest.”
