The highly anticipated event, set to take place on December 24, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC), promises to be a spectacular celebration of creativity and excellence in Ghana’s thriving film industry.
This year’s nominees list is a testament to the incredible talent and hard work of Ghanaian filmmakers, actors, and technical teams. With over 20 categories, including Best Picture, Best Actor and Actress in a Leading Role, and technical awards like Best Cinematography and Best Sound Editing, the competition is fierce.
Some of the notable films and performances that have dominated the nominations include “Taste of Sin,” “Pawn,” “A Country Called Ghana,” and “Widow’s Gift.” The Best Actor in a Leading Role category sees a strong lineup, with Kwadwo Nkansah (Lilwin), James Gardiner, Adjetey Anang, Anthony Woode, and Jeffery Nortey vying for the top spot.
The Best Actress in a Leading Role category is equally impressive, with Nadia Buari, Jackie Appiah, Bless Fortune, Nana Ama MacBrown, Emelia Brobbey, and Habiba Sinare all in contention.
The Ghana Movie Awards 2024 will also recognize emerging talent, with the Discovery of the Year category featuring rising stars such as Rosemond Brown (Akuapim Polo), Frank Ntiamoah, Mawena Azumah, and Martina Dwamenq (Asantewaa).
