Former President John Mahama’s campaign team has denied media reports claiming that he promised to stabilise the struggling Ghana cedi in 100 days when he assume power for a second term.

According to the team, he never promised to stabilise the Ghana cedi in 100 days.

A statement signed by Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to Mr. Mahama, says the former President instead in his speech at the 8th Ghana CEO summit, outlined a comprehensive plan to address the challenges facing the Ghanaian economy, demonstrating his understanding of the situation.

The statement quoted Mr. Mahama as saying that “Our number one priority will be stabilizing the economy and restoring a stable currency. We will launch an urgent economic recovery and fiscal consolidation plan following a national economic dialogue to be held within one hundred days of assumption of office.”
