Emirates Airlines is urging customers to plan their travel carefully this December, as the airline anticipates a significant surge in departure numbers throughout the festive month.
According to Emirates, the number of customers departing from Dubai International Airport has increased dramatically compared to last year. In 2023, the airline saw an average of 75,000 customers depart daily, but this year, that number has skyrocketed to as high as 89,000 on some days, representing a staggering 20% increase.
The surge in travel demand is attributed to the festive season, with many passengers traveling to visit loved ones or take advantage of the holiday period to explore new destinations. Emirates is advising customers to plan ahead, check-in online, and arrive at the airport early to avoid any potential delays.
“We’re expecting a very busy December, and we want to ensure that our customers have a smooth and enjoyable travel experience,” said an Emirates spokesperson. “We’re urging everyone to plan carefully, check-in online, and arrive at the airport with plenty of time to spare.”
With the increased demand, Emirates is also reminding customers to check the latest travel requirements and COVID-19 protocols before their journey. The airline has also implemented various measures to ensure a seamless travel experience, including increased staffing and enhanced security checks.
