President Ismail Omar Guelleh has launched the Djibouti Football Academy of Excellence as part of the country’s broader efforts to develop soccer.
The Academy located in Douda, was unveiled on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
According to the government of Djibouti, the Academy is infrastructure built on the format of international standards and requirements.
The Djibouti Football Excellence Academy has two stadiums with synthetic turf.

The Academy is also attached to two dormitories offering continuous and separate stay for its residents consisting of both girls and boys.
Its well-equipped breweries and kitchens provide conditions for the preparation of well-balanced and highly nutritious rations, essential to the ideal of impeccable physical abilities in which its tenants must constantly be present.

The Academy was built over a period of four years in collaboration with the federation International Football (FIFA).
It already has a 1st nursery of 20 girls and 20 boys selected through an evaluation process organized throughout the national territory, both in the capital and in the interior regions.
