A man has been apprehended for allegedly attempting to steal a car inside the premises of Plateau State Specialist Hospital, Jos. The incident occurred on Friday, November 7, 2025, and was confirmed by the hospital’s Public Relations Officer, Talatu Achan Angi.
According to the hospital, the suspect tried to unlock a Toyota Camry parked near the Amenity Ward, unaware that the owner was still inside the vehicle. The car owner immediately confronted the suspect and raised the alarm, prompting hospital security personnel to respond swiftly.

“Earlier this morning, a suspected car thief was apprehended within the hospital compound while attempting to steal a Toyota Camry. Thanks to the alertness of both the car owner and our security team, the suspect was intercepted before any theft occurred,” the hospital said in a statement.
The suspect was handed over to “A” Division Police Station, Jos, for further investigation and potential prosecution. The hospital management commended the security team for their professionalism and vigilance, which helped prevent what could have been a major theft.
Hospital officials also urged staff, patients, and visitors to remain alert and report any suspicious activity, emphasizing that maintaining security on hospital grounds is a shared responsibility.
